Title: Can I replace a regular switch with a fan switch?

My ceiling fan has a normal switch wired to it I’m wondering if I can change the regular switch with the fan switch.

You can, you can put the pull chain switch on the fan on high speed, and then use the wall switch to change the speeds. That's how the ceiling fans in my house are set up.

Just don't use a dimmer switch with it, because it can cause damage to the motor.

Would I be able to use a switch like this? I have that same switch in my bedroom. Slider for the 3 speeds and off and then the switch for the light.
