Dam shame, those blacklights are pretty cool lights when they are running, and your other link, well at least it wasn't Nickelback...

What a WASTE of a nice Sylvania Blacklight mercury lamp!!!!Would love to have one of these! They can still be found in areas where a LARGE amount of "blacklight" is needed-stage or studio-discos,bowling alleys.

Itís funny and unfortunate how a microwave can be so destructive to some thing

But of all things why a MV
Why not try a fluorescent tube with both filaments knocked off
Iíve watched almost all of their videos

I microwaved an MV lamp once, but only for 20 seconds or so. It survived and is still in use. It was only a cheap Chinese one anyway and I have half a dozen of them so it was expendable. I certainly wouldn't risk it with a special lamp such as this  :o
