I would want a house similar to the one I live in, but a bit bigger, with D50 LED bulbs (95+ CRI natural daylight photo bulbs).    I’m not using up any of the old stuff! 

I would definitely modify a bedroom into a "rain" room. I love rain and thunderstorms, so I'd invest in top quality theater surround sound system for the right sound effects, then I'd have to figure out a way to wire a fixture at the windows to simulate lightning. I'd also have a sprinkler hitting the glass of the windows. Yup, I'm THAT kind of crazy

After riding out a F1 tornado last April, I'd definitely have a storm shelter in my house. It would probably be the laundry room, bathroom, and closet in the interior of the house, far away from windows and exterior walls.

A few other luxurious additions for my dream bedroom, bathroom, and closet would be:

King sized Serta iComfort mattress.
Automated blackout curtains.
A Zephyr Casablanca remote control ceiling fan.
Lamps with Philips Wiz LED smart bulbs.
Accent torch lamps with dimmable T3 halogens. (Halogen light is relaxing when dimmed)

Tile shower with rain shower shower head and a steam sauna feature.
Jacuzzi tub with jets.
Separate water closet with American Standard toilet and a bidet.
Dimmable incandescent lights for relaxing baths.
Plenty of cabinet space for extra towels.
A mirror with a built in night light and digital clock.

Walk in closet with daylight F40T12 preheat fluorescents (GE Starcoat or Philips Alto to see what colors my clothes are)
Adjustable shelf track shelves for folded clothes and hanging clothes.
A space for my accessories including hats and belts.

That's another thing I've thought of except... instead of a separate storm shelter, the entire house would basically be a super-reinforced bunker: tornado-proof & as close to earthquake proof as can be done. Totally overkill ofcourse since I live in a place where the chance of tornadoes is next-to-nothing .LOL.

But hey its a 'dream house', so in my crazy daydreams its a must be built that way thing

My dream house would be pretty basic. I hate living in California, so I plan on building it in Florida.

The house itself would be two stories, featuring a room specifically for my lighting collection. Every room would have (80s-90s) Casablanca ceiling fans, and in some cases have fluorescent strips hidden within built-in shelves. The house would also feature a resort style backyard featuring a covered patio, pool and hot tub, a terrace, outdoor fireplace, and of course a man-made lake behind the house. The backyard would also feature a functional aluminum pole to mount my GE M-400A to. Some of the reasons I would to consider moving to Florida is because it's cheaper to buy property there, they have Publix, and there's actually weather (thunderstorms regularly). I have visited this state a few times so I'm familiar with it.

Heh, for me it would be the other way around..! Florida is far too humid for me, but I love San Francisco

In each of my 400w HX mercury ballasted high bay fixtures, I will use 2 outlet ports (not NEMA 15) and use plug in ignitors and links in order to easily change the ballasting configuration for whatever lamp I want to use in each high bay fixture.

It would be a lovely modern apartment in central Liège, Belgium on Outremeuse.

It would have a lovely balcony with a Schréder MC2 next to it.

In the living room it would have a couch and a mini fridge filled with Dr Pepper and Reece’s Pieces (the mini fridge is bigger on the inside). I would have a large flat screen TV with state of the art speakers. Overlooking my couch there would be an ACEC RAM reading light with SOX.

I would have a kitchen where I can make Cheese and ham panini, Rocky Roads, Sushi etc. etc. so I don’t cut myself, I would have an ETAP B1 over looking the chopping board

My bedroom would have a cold temperature when I do to bed and a Warm temperature when I get up in the morning. I would have lovely Arthos Technics G-ZED mood lighting installed Vertically on each side of my king sized bed

I would have a studio in where I keep all my street lights (even ones I don’t have in real life) with a drum kit, severs, keyboards a huge PC with 3 screens so I can play Star Wars battlefront and go on Lighting gallery at the same time! I would also have another mini fridge, this time containing Dr Pepper, M&M’s  and Lavender ice cream yum yum yum!

In my Bathroom I would have a super strong door lock a toilet, a rainfall shower, a hot tub and a golden sink.

And then the Apartment block would have an underground car park for people who live there only where I would keep my Black Citroën DS and My many other French classics!

Call me crazy but I've always kind of wanted to buy a small school or church building and make that my house, Id leave the lighting intact if its original and where possible the features would remain intact like blackboards, floor, intercoms but I would make it nicer so new paint, some nice trim, maybe some upgrades to windows, stuff like that. Some rooms would be modified like a home cinema/ entertainment, obviously my shop, a second shop but for electronics. My Gf would want a room for her reptiles and also a room for doing art related stuff. Bathrooms, I would leave 1 male and 1 female bathroom as is in the location that visitors are likely to be, whilst the others would be converted to more home like with single toilet, bath and such. If its a church, the main hall area would see the pews (benches) removed but saved or sold off. Outside I would reclad the building, keep the wallpacks up and maintained, the parking lot would remain also because theres lots you can do with a flat area like that.

I've had similar thoughts about living in an abandoned middle school. i would leave it as original as I possibly could without compromising safety(things like rotting structural members would be fixed.) I might also make it more interesting by doing stuff like converting a room to a church-type chapel with pews, churchy lights and an old organ (which would also be slightly practical because I could also use that space for home theater) or adding a 1A2 key telephone system or replacing the gym lights with combo incandescent/MV. I would also add some kind of old school remote control system for the lights(X10 maybe) and also I might convert a classroom (either one near the cafeteria or a home ec classroom so it would have gas/electricity for cooking) into a regular-style kitchen and dining room. and also convert one a few rooms(office maybe) into bedrooms so i did not have to sleep on a cot in the principal's office . Also add one of those neon ceiling fans and also some permanent neon if the code would allow it.

I would also have old school-type and other equipment in it. Film strip projectors, overhead projectors, CRT video projectors, a nice old bell system, slave clock system and PA, fire alarm system that works(so I could clear everyone out of the place if a fire started), a functional mimeograph machine, CRT TV carts with VCRs(probably only one).
