Cooper street lights « on: September 02, 2026, 07:47:30 PM » Author: Goodlighting2000
Cooper seemed to be the latest to discontinue HID street lights (they did it in 2024). I’ve heard Cooper’s HID newest stuff wasn’t that good of quality, and I’ve noticed that Cooper stuff tends to get replaced more than other brands so I think I’d sort of agree.

But, Cooper I think made their offerings more limited before discontinuing them, lkke previously, they limited their MH offerings and restricted to HPS for most (with only one MH option left) before discontinuation.

Cooper fixtures are usually found in HPS. MV and MH ones seem rare.

Have you’ve ever seen an MV or MH Cooper OVZ or OVX? Because they seem very rare (outside of select cities, which used MV up until they were banned in some cases, which is why you see MV 113’s, 115’s, OVX’s, or OVZ’s in certain areas), and they used them until 2020-2022 when they switched to LED. Have you’ve seen an MH version either?

Almost all the ones I’ve seen have been HPS.

I believe the Lumec Helios was the last HID cobra to be discontinued, around Dec, 2024 IIRC.

I've seen a fair few MH OVXs on Ebay, as well as some MH OVF and OVYs. But yes, generally rarer in MH, as with nearly every make and model of Cobra, from what I've seen anyway.
