What’s the most common street light in your area? Is it LED, metal halide, mercury vapor, or HPS?

What's the most common NEMA heads, floodlights, shoebox, post tops, or cobra head in your area.

In my area, the most common street light type is HPS, followed by LED. Mercury vapor is rare in my area (with exceptions for NEMA heads as those are quite common in MV). All cobras in my area are HPS (for older style) or LED (for newer style).

What light source do you most commonly find NEMAs, cobras, post tops, and shoeboxes in.

Where I live, my local electric co-op replaced all the MV and HPS NEMA heads with LEDs about 10 years ago. The DOT still has a vast majority of HPS cobraheads still in use. One major utility has about half HPS, half LED, and and another one is about 70% HOS with several LED fixtures.

All in my area it is 50W HPS cobraheads (idk what type specifically). They are still plastered throughout the area. From what I can tell 50W is not a super common rating in the US but they're all over the place here. Rare to see any other wattage.

I don't know the current LED lights to tell what they are, aside from being a "cobrahead replacement".  The city had some early BetaLED demo streets, and most neighborhoods are lit with GE Evolves, many of which are greening out by now.

There were some exceptions, especially on major thoroughfares, but the city mostly used ITT/AE cobraheads back in the HPS days.  The vast majority of those were FCO.  Up until 1994, many streets in the south part of town still had mercury clamshells (LM Ovalites I think).  I remember trick-or-treating on one weird street that had mercury "yard lights" (NEMAs).

The state used to exclusively use FCO HPS Cobraheads, and strongly favored GE M400A powrdoors.  If a road was being built, they may end up with something different (Crouse-Hinds, Hubbell) depending on what was bid when it was built, but service replacements would almost always be GE.

Over where I'm at, it's recently become about 98% led, with the side roads having their PL/T fixtures swapped out with LED (Sylvania Orbital for post top, Sylvania StreetLED Mk4 for side entry). There are a few PL/T post tops (Sylvania B2001, with a finial and shade) and Sylvania Suburban Ecos left over, being put in the 'too hard basket' during the upgrade, for various reasons. The main roads are 100% LED, with a mix of Philips Roadflairs and Schreder Aventos. in the past it was a mix of HPS on main roads and MV on minor roads. That replacing MV on main roads and post tops, but fluorescent for side entry on minor roads.
