Hey Geoff, It's from 9/71, nice find! It seems OV-15s hold up very well, after at least 30 years they're still relatively clean. Don't ya agree?

I have one from 1968 and it has a metal tag...the reflector looks good but the rubber gasket is brittle and needs a new one..... I wonder did the newer OV-15 have rubber gaskets?

Westinghouse switched to the fiber gaskets in the 1970s.  If you'll notice,  they'll have a staggered cut at the joint.

6500K Color Temperature Kelvin lighting works for me. I use 6500K CFL in all my incandescent light fixtures. I use 6500K Flurescent bulbs in my flurescent fixtures. I hope prices get better and hope I find 6500K LED lighting in the future. I love energy efficient and Energy Star products. Way to go!

The real westinghouse doesn't exist anymore. the westinghouse that exists today is a totally diffrent company, they just bought the westinghouse name. I think when the true westinghouse went under, Philips got the name and sold it to ABCo because Cooper went right to the Crouse-Hinds name whereas Philips still used the Westinghouse name on their lamps for a while.

Cooper & Crouse Hinds are both run by Eaton. Cooper is in charge of the street light department. Crouse-Hinds is in charge of other types of lights.

No, Eaton does not run Crouse-Hinds, they own Cooper INDUSTRIES, which is different from Cooper LIGHTING. Then Cooper Lighting is part of Cooper Industries which is now part of Eaton as of 2013. We're talking 1980s here when Westinghouse went belly-up. Up until last year, Cooper Industries was it's own company, who has several divisions including Cooper Lighting. They did not make street lights until they bought Westinghouse's outdoor lighting division in the early 80s. They sold the lights under the Crouse-Hinds name. At this time Crouse-Hinds didn't produce hazardous location lights as Cooper wasn't into that yet. In the 90s sometime, they introduced Streetworks (their new brand for street light fixtures) and Crouse-Hinds became their tradename for hazardeous lighting. Cooper isn't in charge of street lighting, they're in charge of ALL LIGHTING because they OWN Crouse-Hinds, streetworks, Lumark, McGraw-Edision, Metalux, Regent, etc., which all used to be independant companies until Cooper bought them all out. When they bought out Westinghouse's outdoor lighting line, they couldn't use the Westinghouse name because that belonged to Philips. So they used the Crouse-Hinds name, which used to be in the traffic signal business.
