Looking for high CRI F40T12 lamps « on: June 02, 2010, 01:25:44 AM » Author: RCM442
Where is the best source of a very high CRI F40T12 lamp, say like at ace hardware, home depot or lowes? I have a set of Reveal F40T12 lamps, but they have a lower CRI.

Hey Rudy, check Home Depot for high CRI F40T12 lamps, they should have Philips Natural Sunshine and or Philips Colortone which are 5000K and have a CRI of 92.

Thanks Darren! Will have to get some next time I'm down there! Wondering, are they ALTO? not that it makes any difference to me!

What do you need it for?

Get the Colortone 50 if you want to color match at D50.  Get Daylight Deluxe (88 CRI) if you want to do it at D65.  They should both be available easily.

ge sunshine/chroma50.real 40w too.not sure on mercury dose but if they last less is better.
walmart hes them.
though they dumped the f15t8.got a bunch on the closeout aisle at $.50 ea!
the last ones went 5 years of heavy use in may dazor drafting lamps.they blacken early in my 12v fixtures but still go a few years.

I agree with toomanybulbs.  I've been really pleased with the GE Sunshine Chroma 50 lamps (5000k CRI 90).  They would most likely be Ecolux (unless you are lucky enough to find some NOS ones) but in my experience they seem to be the best low mercury T12 lamps out there.

The persistence on Chroma 50 phosphor is very short, so the stroboscopic effect is BAD on magnetic ballast.
