Earlier this year, GE Current aquired Hubbell's entire lighting division.

Neither do I. Current pretty much ruined GE's street light division, although it hasn't been a 100% failure.

It’s such a shame. Current’s products don’t deserve the GE emblem on them. Let’s hope they don’t ruin Kim Lighting or something.

LED street lights are bad. Some look good though. HID is better.
Please, watch out for the future. It's not looking good. Loves instruction manuals of any kind!

Anyone know if GE stopped making HID streetlights before or after the divestiture to Daintree. It's a shame what happened to GE's lighting division and how the lamp and luminaire divisions got split up. Reminds me of what happened to Westinghouse back in the day.

I'm not sure what to think of this. Especially since Hubbell seemed pretty meh compared to Steber or Kim Lighting.

I believe Daintree bought out GE Current in 2018, then their HID offerings were officially discontinued in roughly 2019.

Breaking news. Current has dropped the Hubbell name entirely from their portfolio and has grouped fixtures into other subsidiaries. They even got rid of Hubbell Outdoor Lighting and replaced it with a subsidiary called EXO.

For example, the Hubbell LitePak is now the Beacon LitePak. The Hubbell Ratio is now the EXO Ratio. Architectural Area Lighting, Beacon, Kim Lighting, and Whiteway still exist, though.

In short, Hubbell Lighting no longer exists. :(

I like HID, CFLs and incandescents :hps: :cflhd: :a19incan:

Favorite indoor light source: PL Fluorescent (Preferably preheat, maybe rapid start, maybe instant start but instant start is boring)
Favorite outdoor light source: High Pressure Sodium (MV maybe, but HPS is relaxing)

Good job Daintree, way to go ruining one brand at a time.

Dropping the Hubbell brand name shouldn't be surprising...it was probably spelled out in the sale contract. Most likely, there was given a 3 to 5 year grace period, for a branding change. The buyer can obviously cut it short if they choose.

@ Joseph_125: Steber is what became Hubbell Lighting...the buyout happened around 1970.
