I have a Advance 135W SOX ballast, and I’m curious to it’s age. Theres  a numbers stamped on it but no obvious number to possibly reveal its age. See Here:

The white text stamped on the core is the date code. Here's a excerpt from a older Advance HID ballast catalogue:

Quote
Philips Advance HID Core & Coil ballasts are date stamped on either the top surface or the side surface of the ballast core. The four-digit number represents the week and year of manufacture. The first two numbers indicate the week and the last two indicate the year the ballast was manufactured. The example shows a ballast manufactured during the 36th week of 1989. The three letters are a factory code.

I think yours is week 38 2007, or September 2007. I believe Advance branded capacitors are date coded using the same system. The logo is the 2000s style with the eagle landing on the A so I think 2007 it is. Earlier Advance logo didn't have a eagle and newer ones are co branded with Philips.

No problem, I might make a post with the fluorescent ballast info too just to have a convenient place to link to this info.
