Is there anyone here in Chapel Hill, NC that would be willing to give me / sell me HID Bulbs and ballasts.

HID Fixtures should stay HID, but I think LED is fine too.

You can easily find HID lamps, ballasts, and fixtures if you search eBay and ReStores. You can find HID lighting for dirt cheap prices at ReStores!!! You could also try flea markets too.

Yeah, I went to the ReStore here, and there were None. The only lighting related stuff they had were LED bulbs for $1.00 each. The other thrift stores I went to had some pretty interesting light bulbs, but I didn't find any HID bulbs. I will continue on my search, but will probably end up getting them at Fleabay for a ridiculous price.

I asked about HID lamps/fixtures , etc. and was told "we're not allowed to accept anything containing mercury under any circumstances because if it doesn't sell , we'll have to pay to properly dispose of it "

The problem with my ReStores is that they seem to love to overprice things !! I bought 3 new GE HPS ballasts that sat there for close to a year as they wanted $75 EACH !! . After awhile , the boxes disappeared and the parts got scattered around . I rounded what I could find up into one area and asked an employee how much . He sold them to me for $2 ea.

No LED gadgets, spins too slowly.  Gotta  love preheat and MV. let the lights keep my meter spinning.
