Man, if I had the opportunity to get a truck, I most certainly would. But I'm low on funds right now,
and currently in a very bad situation.
So Cole D, you're not the only one sticking with cars. lol

When it comes to trucks, I've driven and owned a good number.  GMC/Chevy have treated me the best and given me the least amount of issues, so I am a bit partial to them, at least up until 2014.  I haven't owned anything newer than a 2014.

Classic (never owned one)

late 70s/early 80s Style: (never owned one)

GMT-700 series:

GMT-800 series.
I had one that looked like this.  2005 GMC Sierra.  It was a GREAT truck.  Also had a 1999 maroon Chevy Silverado, also a great truck.

GMT-900 (2007-2013)
I got me a brand new 2007 Sierra at the end of 2007 and it looked a lot like this.  It was a great truck.  Traded it in for a Diesel when my needs changed.

GMT-900 Diesel Traded the 07 Sierra 1500 in on an 08 Sierra 2500HD Duramax.  My first personal use Diesel.  Drove a lot of work truck diesels prior to that, Ford and Dodge.  The Duramax Engine/Allison Transmission combo made it the best diesel and still is in my opinion.  The 7.3L Power Stroke was a great engine too, but everything else around it sucked, including Ford's automatic and manual transmissions.  Same thing with the Cummins, though not as reliable of an engine, and even worse reliability when it came to the transmissions and everything else around it.

I've had a few other trucks but the ones listed above were my favorites.

Currently without a truck and I'll be in the market to get me another truck in the next year, I'm probably going to go back and get me a 99-2006ish GMC Sierra.  Too much electronic crap on vehicles now a days.  Too many things monitoring what you are doing/listening in on you and I won't have any part of it.

I really like the truck in the second pic, 1978 Chevrolet Silverado Camper.. fits the same look I like in a truck... plus it is even a crew cab... those are always nice. Yeah I personally hate all the electronic stuff they're throwing in cars. all I want is a radio.. possibly a CD/Cassette player..

I like the 90s GMT-700 series too. It's rare to see these in a crewcab here though and even rarer on the 70s and 80s models.
TheC/K30 "3+3".  At forestry, they called those "6-packs" :D

I've always been a Ford guy.  I think one of my favorites were the late 6th generation (1978-1979) and early 7th generation (1980-1981) with the F-O-R-D spelled out across the hood.  Certainly have no complaints about my 2014 model either.

I've always liked the GMT-400 series too, especially the 1994 and later "deep grill" style.  I've generally preferred them over the 8th and 9th generation F-series (1987-1996).  Didn't care much for the styling of the early GMT-800s, but always thought the later "angry eyes" models looked sharp.

Would love to find a clean, unmolested Jeep Comanche, especially if it has the 4.0 straight 6.

OK, oddly enough, my expertise is primarily with, of all things, old military 6x6s.  I literally know more about those than any civillian pickup.  Reading up on those (having considered owning one as surplus) is practically how I learned how, say, a transmission even works, or what a transfer case even was.

At one time, I considered daily driving a Deuce and a Half. Almost bought one as my first vehicle as a college freshman.  I would have but someone beat me to it.  (They fly off of Cragslist around here).  It's one of those things I admittedly take guilty pleasure in; telling people I almost daily drove one on a 60 mile round trip commute.  In the winter.  In Alaska.  In Fairbanks.

Later, I got into the M939-series 5 ton trucks.  (If any of you were in the army in the '80s or '90s or '00s, you probably know what I am referencing quite well).  As it happens, I may be picking up an '83 M923 before much longer, about an hour away from me.

I have always really like the Super Duty series and larger Silverados. From a very young age I was enamored with the F250, especially the very boxy early 90's models. I'd still like to find one to have as a "tool-around-town," rig.

My actual daily driver is a 2016 Nissan Titan XD PRO-4X. I enjoy the truck immensely because it is a unique rig, and is in somewhat of its own class. It's bigger than the 150/1500 platform but smaller than the 250/2500 platform. A lot of people jokingly call it an "F-200" equivalent.

Old topic, but...

I really like the older 1970's/1980's Chevy "square-body" trucks. My dad used to have one.

I also really love those little old Toyota pickups from the 1980's and 1990's. Those things were bulletproof and would last forever matter what you did to them. The Nissan D21, which was mentioned earlier in this thread, is also good. I personally like the Toyotas better better, maybe it's I'm biased.

My favorite modern truck would have to be the Toyota Tundra. My dad has a 2008 model with the 4.7L V8 engine. Two 2007 Tundras made it to 1 million miles on their original engine and transmission. The 5.7L V8 was also a great engine. Just this year, the Tundra was redesigned after 15 years of the previous second generation. (First generation was from 1999 to 2006.) I don't like that Toyota put the 3.5L twin-turbo V6 in it. It definitely won't last as long as the outgoing V8...

I'd stay away from any American brand whenever possible. If you had to get a Diesel truck, get one that was made before 2007. That's when they were still good, after that, they started having problem after problem.

I wouldn't mind either a new F-150 4dr. or maybe one of the Honda new Honda Ridgelines .( Can't afford either !!)  I still have my old 1980 Ford Courier pickup despite it's rusted out frame !! I just can't bring myself to get rid of it . I bought it in 1987 with only 57,000 miles and drove it another 150,000 miles until it was parked in 2004 due to the frame rust .

Gonna have to go for the 1990-1993 Chevy 454 SS which was a performance version of the 1500, looks absolutely intimidating and you can have you streetlights in the back. 8)

@Tim: Even with the amount of work it would take, you could probably get a new Frame for it and take the whole thing apart and bolt it back to a non rusted one and be able get it road worthy again. :wndr:

@ Bulbman :  The problem is finding a good frame for a 42 yr old truck which was plagued by rust problems from the start . I had to replace both front fenders and patch both the floor pans and the bed floor due to rust while I lived in Georgia !! Couriers are great little trucks other than the fact that they rust horribly !  :o

There might be an aftermarket company making new frames for them... :wndr:

I've looked...NADA !  I'll find one someday , probably in the southwest U.S. It's basically the same from 1977 to 1984 The courier was produced from 1972-1982 but it was manufactured by Mazda who made it up to 1984 .

I like a good amount of trucks,70s and 80s "square body" trucks, the 30s to 60s Chevys Fords and GMCs, anything old really along with some of the early 2000s Silverados. I think I'm getting a Tacoma as my first truck, would've gotten a diesel but I'm not looking to go broke at 16

Here is one I'd love to get a hold of, if I could find a reasonably priced one in reasonable shape.  The Ford Econoline Pickup.  Made from 1961-1967.

I've always liked the idea of Tacomas better than I've actually liked them.  It seemed to me like they got almost everything right about them except for the seating position.  The ones I've spent time in were the 1st generations, and one 2005 that wasn't much better.  I preferred to spend a shift in the rattly, drafty old 1991 S-15 Sonoma we had at work over the 1999 Tacoma we had.  I've spent plenty of time in a friend's FJ Cruiser and a couple of rented 4Runners that had comfortable seats, so they may be better now.
