LED street lights are bad. Some look good though. HID is better.
Please, watch out for the future. It's not looking good. Loves instruction manuals of any kind!

Getting an authentic one would require a ballast replacement or a step down transformer if it is a fluorescent desk lamp since Japan usually uses 100v mains for most of its appliances while the USA uses 120v mains for most appliances. If it is an incandescent desk lamp, there is no need to make any modifications except for using a bulb rated for 120v mains.

In that case, it is best to use a step down transformer or replace the 100v ballast with a 120v one. I would be happy to search one up on www.jauce.com since I imported lots of Japanese market lamps from there for my collection.

Here is a vintage fluorescent desk lamp that I found on www.jauce.com:

https://www.jauce.com/auction/q1055358174

Here are more listings shown below:

https://www.jauce.com/search/蛍光灯デスクランプ

Since the bottom link is broken on LG, you will need to manually copy it and paste it.

One of my friends is wanting to find a Japanese Desk Lamp from around the 70's/80's.
Thanks!

Just to make it clear, if he looking for a Japanese market one designed for 100v or a Japanese made export lamp for the North American market designed for 120v? I sometimes see the export ones for 120v at thrift stores. I think last time I saw one, it was only like $15 or something.
