I like how some eBayers post double pictures that don't actually do anything of value.

Yeah, the classic second picture of the same view but at a slightly different angle. A picture of any of the 4 luminaires opened up would tell a lot more.

Yeah, worst case scenario it'll be ballast gone with a corncob in it. That said, I just noticed these don't have the pull tab on the push to open latch button so these are early model M-250Rs.

I doubt these are actually Detroit lights. If they were something of this size and class they would have usually been crimefighters. But if they are, they would not have ballasts. Everything Mercury that Detroit had on their system was series.

Detroit did have a number of crimefighters from that time period. There was one near a abandoned train station on the west side, but it got replaced when the city redid their lighting system.

Interesting that Detroit had Crimefighters. Anyway have any pictures or Streetview links of them? I've speculated that Toronto might have used them in some alleyways before the Westinghouse Viscounts and Holophane RSL200s (Both HPS) but I haven't found any proof.
Yeah, I think you're right about mercury lights in Detroit being series, I've heard from other collectors the same too. Still I think these would be a nice buy, especially if there's a MV lamp and original ballast inside.

@Joe: I believe it was on Rose St, if you use the timeline bar on streetview and go back prior to 2015 or so. See Here

Well, most were probably removed when all those Holophane RSLs and others took over. The crimefighter on Rose St was the only one I knew of left on the city street.

There were definitely crimefighters. Along M-39 back in the day and some other spots. Somewhat common actually. Also, I believe the lights you have that are from Detroit but not series are actually from the surrounding areas (which are a completely different entity).Because to my knowledge, everything Mercury on (at the time) PLD territory was series. There was multiple wired stuff, but that was all HPS.
