Fixture identification message board proposal « on: September 09, 2022, 02:37:26 PM » Author: HIDLad001
It would be nice if Lighting-gallery could get a fixture identification message board. Members would share photos of streetlights they say and other members would help identify them. When you post a photo of a mystery fixture in the gallery, a lot of the time nobody identifies it. This will also make it easier for new members because often times they don't know where to ask.

Thanks!

I like the idea. There could also be a section for lamps. This would be very useful when you find a lamp with a missing or damaged etch.

Just put your queries in the relevant boards, that's what members have done since the site started with a link to a gallery image, that way you can get replies from users pf both the gallery and forum.  :wndr:

There's no need for separate boards.

I just thought that it might be a bit unexpected to post a request for a fixture identification in one of the other boards.

@Mandolin Girl - I find just getting a clear photograph of the fixture in question and posting it to the gallery usually gets a ID aside from the really obscure stuff I've posted.

Exactly Joseph, but posting a question on the forum can double your chances of getting an answer.  :wndr:

How about a fixture identification message icon then?

Use the question mark, you are after all asking a question.
