									| Governor Newsome of California just signed Assembly Bill AB2208. Compact fluorescent lamps with screw or bayonet bases cannot be sold in California after 1-1-2024. Linear fluorescent lamps with any type of base, and compact fluorescent lamps with pin type bases cannot be sold in California after 1-1-2025.(With some exceptions for special lamps.) Vermont was the first state to pass similar legislation some months ago.

									| Of course... well at least I have a lifetime supply of some of the basic types to use in the future, along with ballasts and a decent amount of fixtures. | |

									| Welp, can't say I'm surprised, thankfully I have enough of most standard sized lamps to last me into the foreseeable future. | |

									| @wide-lite 1000:      I live in California, I understand the reasoning behind some of the bans, but as a lighting enthusiast I’m still kind of disappointed by new lamp bans here. | |
								| | Logged | I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.I’m not proud to say that my city has Devolved to LED.

									| The thing about lamp discontinuations and bans that really bothers me is that these lamps become harder to obtain in the future for collecting and to have a supply that I would use in fixtures for my enjoyment. In my dream house, I am thinking of having a mix of preheat linear fluorescent and preheat non-integrated CFL chandelier fixtures and having these bans in place makes me worried about running out of lamps that I enjoy using and getting them shipped here would make it more expensive because I would need to send these lamps to an out of state forwarding service, which can drastically increase shipping costs. I wonder if these lamp bans would affect my ability to import lamps from abroad. | |

									| Yeah, I heard. I think the ban on gas heaters is actually a good thing, since heat isn’t really needed in a lot of places in California and it should be an easy way to help reduce some emissions. | |
