Not really a vintage car, but we've been re-watching Wheeler Dealers lately and we just saw the one where they did up a Morgan, the whole chassis needed replacing and it took Edd and his mate Paul 130 man hours to get it done  :o

You can hire cars for the day from the factory, we have got to go and do that sometime  ;D

The top of my odd favorites that have not changed in over 10 years are:

North America: 1959 Edsel Ranger or villager but only with the 292 Y-block
British: Land Rover series IIa
Soviet: moskvich 408

They are not over the top and designed to be every day common cars.

I think the vintage car I've been most interested in lately is the 1961-1967 Ford Econoline Pickup.
I forgot to mention the very similar 1964-1970 Dodge A100 pickup.

I owned a 1985 Toyota hilux surf prototype / test car
basically a 4 runner before they finalized the 4 runner
it was part Canadian and part Japanese - left hand drive with japanese style lights and fenders
would want a 1970 El Camino basically a "ute" / pickup made from the Chevelle
and for the comments about a Fiat 500 and getting back to "slim cars" I own a Suzuki boat motor full EFI / electronics - amazing fuel economy and runs like an absolute top and is simpler under the hood then the carb models that predate it and needs no battery to operate the EFI so tech like that on a small "kei" class car would be excellent for urban use
