"Who made the first LED streetlight?"

Ok, well this will be a difficult answer, as probably the first LED streetlight was made in the USA or Canada. As for England, and maybe rest of the UK, our first LED lantern was the WRTL Stela, which was made around 2008-2009. Possibly the 2nd LED lantern in UK was the Advanced LEDs Marlin 1000, which was made right at the start of 2010. And possibly the 3rd LED lantern in the UK which was made was our Philips Speedstar, which was made around 2011.

For the experts, please correct me If my info was incorrect. But I can be 100 percent sure the WRTL Stela was first made in the UK.

However, I have no clue who could make the first LED streetlight, but I believe it was made in the USA or Canada for sure...

Usually I collect bulbs (Mostly LED) and some HID ones. I also own a couple of streetlights, but most are made in Poland.

However, I mostly prefer SOX bulbs. LED bulbs in their efficacy will never beat SOX bulbs, in my opinion.

@Eleco_SR304 did you read the previous comments? I believe the first UK led lantern was the MOONCELL ENVIRO-LUM.

Off topic but, I hope you noticed that there are several old lanterns on the same road as the Marlin 1000.

As for the first worldwide one I believe that that would be the MOONCELL ENVIRO-LUM. The leotek (SLN?) would be my guess as to the first North American led streetlight.

Is there any link for it?

@Milwaukeeman2003- Here it is. These date from 2003-2004 and Leotek started to make LED Lanterns from 2004 so...would Mooncell Enviro Lum be the first LED lantern created on Earth? Please correct me if my details are incorrect.

I’ve seen that before! There’s an LED M400A2 copycat that dates back to 2002. Forgot who made it though.
