What are these Thorn Canada 35w SOX? « on: December 08, 2023, 03:18:35 AM » Author: lights*plus
I photographed these lighting a church parking lot in July 2017. These were recently replaced with small LED floods. Didn't check their bins to try & save them, but since I photographed them well, I need to get the proper title for these. Apparently they were made in Canada. Any ideas?

The low resolution makes it hard to get a positive ID but I think this is the Thorn Canada Golden Arrow. I've seen these modified for a single slit diffraction experiment in a university physics lab before.

Yep that's a better label than the faded one's I uploaded. Thanks! What was interesting to me was that all 8 of these Golden Arrows lighting the church lot (on two poles) had good working lamps until at least 2021 (as I saw passing by)! They were replaced shortly after that.

One such "Golden Arrow" came up on facebook marketplace last winter. Located just less than an hour north of me, it was sold before I had a reply from the seller. It was mint in the box with a lamp for $50 CAD. I believe it may have been sold to that French guy Michel Valieux(?) who started/owns the FB low pressure sodium lights group.
