Hello fellow lighting nerds! I recently got my hands on a few boxes of Osram Biolux and also Osram lumilux deluxe 965 tubes! Very sweet to finally have some nice full spectrum tubes to enjoy! They are very new Osram tubes, made in 2022-2023. The thing that I find interesting is that on the packages, the biolux tubes are clearly rated at 2300 lumens, while the deluxe daylight ones are rated at 2850. Hmmm, this inspired me to try two tubes side by side in my test fixture to see if there's any difference and well, I sure can't see any difference in light output, light colour, or anything! And as far as I'm aware, the biolux tubes are supposed to be full spectrum just like the deluxe daylight. Are they just the same tube, but with different labelling?

If I recall right the biolux lamps should have some output in UV spectrum to imitate more real sunlight. That should explain the decrease in rated lumen output which probably is measured in visible range.

aha! That makes sense! And that also explains why they are rated at a lower lumen output, even though it appears exactly the same to me in person. I did a second test again now at night, and yeah, there is absolutely no difference that I can see.
