| Today I bought a good few new, unused CDs from Kaufland, and for a price €6.99, I think it was a little bit expensive for 25 discs (well at least better price than the other shop for €10.99 for 25 discs).
I was born around the era where USBs were starting to get popular and CDs were starting to not be used by much people who don't care whatever they use, whenever it's Vinyls, Cassettes, etc. I pretty much used CDs in our old Volvo 2009 car until 2024, where the car was sold and no need was burn CDs anymore, as the new car was for USB / Bluetooth.
Only now I burnt a few CDs and used them in a cheap unknown CD and USB player. The CD kept skipping a few milliseconds every good 10 seconds. I thought it was the issue with the CDs, but later when in the BMW I used a CD, there was no issue with the "skipping". I guess a cheap laser was fitted in the player, unlike they use a good laser that actually does the job properly, like almost every CD player that has a known manufacture.
So does anyone else use CDs, and if not, what guy are you, Cassette, Vinyl, Pendrive??

| I mean, it's not a really topic on Vinyls, but I suppose so if you're not in CDs.
I never really held a VINYL in real life, but I can Imagen how big they are compared to a CD.
I also recommend being careful with Vinyl, to not scratch it much and hold it with your fingers lightly. As of, I'm not going to explain more, I've never interacted with a vinyl, only CD, Pendrive and Cassette.

I still have bunch of CD-R at home. Once a great while, I would burn pictures into the CD-R for archival purpose. the last time I used it in 2020

Yep, I still listen to CD's fairly often. I've even worn out a couple CD players over the years on my stereo system. lol. Once a great while, I would burn pictures into the CD-R for archival purpose. Just be aware that CD-R's degrade over time, rendering the data unuseable....so just make sure that is not your one sole place of storing anything you want to keep! I am really looking forward to buying the upcoming Madonna album on a CD I didn't even know she had a new album coming out. I'll have to get that.

@xmaslightguy - That's nice. Seems you've been listening to a lot of them since you've worn out CD Players 😁 I also agree, it's not the best place to store photos on CDs, as only you need a few scratches and the CD is done. Back then you could do it on CDs, as where else could you store? But nowhere days you have a Computer, Pendrive, etc. If it's not your only place to store images, then I guess you're good 👍

| I'm more of a vinyl and cassette listener when I feel like listening to physical music. I do have a few CDs and a couple of CD players but I usually end up ripping my CDs to FLAC and then playing those instead. For portable use, I convert them to ALAC and have a older iPod with expanded storage to play them on.
When I built my current computer last year, I specially chose a case that looked modern, yet still retained a 5.25" drive bay. I installed a Blu-Ray drive in it, which I mostly use for ripping Blu-Ray movies and CDs. The library here still maintains a fairly up to date collection of them and the quality is much better than streaming.
