Enjoy the HPS lamps, neon signs, the incidental mercury, and a couple hundred incandescents used to light a bridge in a fancy way. Must've been special long life bulbs  you'd be swapping lamps on the daily.
The monument for peace at Dam Square was (and still is, probably - the other decorative lanterns were metal halide at least at the beginning of this year) lit by metal halide.

Pretty impressive camera. Most of Amsterdam's roads were lit with high pressure sodium lamps, but despite the bad color rendering of HPS lamps, the video still looks great.
In reality it looks more amber, of course. The videographer really did some work to make it look as normal as possible.
