If you want to run a light fixture using its original ballast, a lamp, or a ballast that requires a voltage other than your domestic mains supply, you might find it useful to know how to use an industrial control transformer. In my case, I have been using some industrial control transformers wired in reverse as step up transformers to get 208V 60Hz lighting to run on my 120V 60Hz supplies and have been looking into getting others in order to run 480V 60Hz lighting on my 120V 60Hz supplies.
