I'm trying to restore a traffic signal that uses an illuminate left box on top. its design to run two f24t12 lamps. uniformity it was removed but now that I own it I want to put it back to florescent. does anyone have a ballast I can buy or a recommendation to where i can get one?

Are they slimline or High Output? I've had success with an electronic F40T12 ballast to run slimline F24T12 tubes. You can come across these magnetic Keystone ballasts that can run F24T12/HO tubes on eBay.

They're HO lamps. They have the ends on them that are designed to go in sign. Can I use just any f40t12 ballast for these?

You could but it will under drive the tubes.
