That's okay. Do you believe that there is a certain point where too much of energy efficiency starts to be a bad thing? Can there be too much of a good thing?
I've mentioned this before in certain threads, but in some parts of the UK, 'energy efficient' LED street lighting is being turned off all together! 🤨
And you can't get better energy efficiency than off! 😁

Why would they be doing that? Do they have dimming street lights which operate at a baseline lumen state but then increase in output when they detect motion? I'm curious.  :wndr:

I'm an avid lighting enthusiast who works with and studies ballasts, ignitors and lighting optics while identifying various models and manufacturers of electric lighting. I am actively studying particle physics and seek to understand the mechanics of a photon.

No, none of that, but It's seemingly just on motorways and long stretches of road it's happening on at the moment, residential areas are not affected, not sure whether they just intend to use them only in bad weather conditions, such as winter fogs and the likes?, other UK members are not seeing it in their area, but I am here, more and more sections of columns with newly installed LED lanterns now have a little yellow sign beneath them saying "Street Lighting Not In Use", but then again, British roads are now up there with some of the worst maintained roads in other countries, so if you're not going to repair them, why waste money on lighting them too! 🤨
