"If it's stupid and it works, it ain't stupid."

If streetlights in your area are affected by this issue, contact your local authorities to report the problem.
Contact the very authorities that installed the now defective lamps, stating they... don't produce light? produce harmful UV? hurt your eyes? I don't know how things work over there but as long as the fixture produces light without any strobing or such, I don't think you're in a great position to complain. Hopefully this article will shut the attention seeking conspiracy nuts down...but it probably wont.
To be fair, would anything? "You cannot reason a person out of a position he did not reason himself into in the first place"

| I could imagine just one such fixture in an otherwise dark street causing a beautiful liminal look late at night, in the cool breeze, not another soul in sight... Although I imagine this is something quite typical in less urban areas.

| I would imagine there to be some UVA in the spectrum of the LED if theyre emitting bluish violet, but no where near enough to harm anyone.

| Yes if they're truly in the light violet range like the images show, it might be a worry; but there's most likely a plastic/glass cover for the light and it's high enough that the intensity of it is zero or very close to zero. I'm mildly surprised it's using light closer to 400nm than 450nm.

Sometimes it just takes a little bit of time and a concerted effort to learn something new. Don't give up before you get where you want to go.

No, zero UV of any kind. LEDs don't work that way. They are 450nm blue diodes which are far removed from UVA. Having bits of phosphor cling on can make it appear purple.

| Ideally:
██ + ██ = ██ LED + phosphor = WHITE
Except in this case, with a defective phosphor:
██ + ██ = ██ LED + phosphor = PURPLE
(not a perfect representation but you get the idea)

One time, I drove by an area where the warehouse, adjacent strip mall, and all the roads leading up to and around l had very bright violet light. It was quite the sight to see!

| Yeah, it looks pretty cool, even if it is close to being useless as actual street lighting. I wonder what it would look like if you'd add a bunch of LPS...

| Yep. Acuity LED fixtures made between 2017 and 2019 had a quality control issue where the phosphors would fall off the diodes causing the light to be purple. Thousands of street lights are affected by this failure mode. More are turning purple now if 2017-2019 manufactured. I believe some of the 2020 and 2021 model years are also turning purple. I’ve seen purple lights numerous times. I’ve even seen entire roads lit pretty much only with them.
This applies to the AEL ATB0, ATB2, 247L, Lithonia LED parking lot fixtures, and even some wall pack models. Visionaire Lighting and King Luminaire had similar failure modes with some of their fixtures. Some of the Leoteks are also apparently turning purple. But, usually the purple ones are from Acuity.
