Thinking of creating a 2 lamp Circline Torchiere « on: October 25, 2026, 11:46:25 PM » Author: suzukir122
I'm thinking about creating a Circline Torchiere, preferably one that is already put together, but I'd of course need to take out the components in it,
whether it be for Halogen, or whether it's LED... as long as the top portion of the Torchiere is large enough to fit a 32w and 22w Circline.
I'd then need a base that could support a full sized magnetic HPF Rapid Start ballast, or maybe an electronic Programmed Start ballast.
This light would be for my bedroom, as part of a major update plan. I'm thinking about having only two lights in my bedroom... one would be the other
floor lamp identical to the floor lamp just outside of my bedroom, and the other would be this Torchiere. Idk, this is currently just a thought. No clue
if I'll actually go through with this idea, but I do want to put those two warm white GE Circline lamps I've recently bought, into use.

Wouldn't fitting that may wires thru the center rod of the lamp be a challenge?

@DimBulb, yes it would, big time. This makes me want to change ideas. Maybe I could somehow use my 2x PL-L 36w desk lamps as higher up-lighting,
if I could find a way to bring them up higher. I'm debating on using one as uplighting from my bedroom closet, and then just keeping it on the closet shelf.
That desk lamp along with the floor lamp, would be more than enough light for that small bedroom.
I'll have to see sometime soon, and of course, I'll have to see what I'll do with those Circlines, maybe in a different setting.

It might be possible if you mount ballasts in the center of the tubes. But no chance you fit that many wires through. Maybe if you did preheat and kept starter sockets up top it might be possible.
