Looking for USA lamp catalogs « on: April 06, 2011, 09:44:15 PM » Author: nogden
Hello everyone, I am looking for lamp catalogs from USA lamp manufacturers from the 1940s through the 1980s. I would prefer electronic copies, but would gladly pay shipping costs (in the USA) if someone had extra copies they wouldn't mind sending to me. I don't need them bad enough to pay for copies, but would pay for postage.

I have the Mazda 1937 PDF catalog from Kilokat's Web site and my GE catalogs start at 1992. I'm looking for catalogs in between!

Unfortunately I don't have anything to help you, but it does remind me of something.  I used to lamp catalogs from around 1992 from GE, GTE Sylvania, Philips and Osram.  I haven't seen them in years, but I may still have them somewhere.  I'd like to find them again.  They may turn up when I do some cleaning this summer.

GE printed a catalogue in 2010 as I have a copy. Unfortunately, I use it so it is unavailable. However, if you asked your electrical supplier, they might have one. I doubt big stores such as Home Depot would have them, but electrical supply stores might have a few copies available.

I do have recent catalogs. I've been getting them every few years from my supplier since '92. Recent ones I just download from their Web sites.

My 1992 GE Spectrum catalog is one of the best references I have. I've often thought about taking it apart, scanning the pages, and making it into a PDF.

I have old lamp catalogs. I have GE catalogs from 1960, 1977, 1979, and 1991. Also Westinghouse catalogs from 1940, 1957, 1964, and 1983. Also a 1923 and 1937 Hygrade price list, and a 1939 Durotest, 1947 Champion, and a 1980 Norelco. Oh also Philips catalogs from 1985 and 1993. I can email you PDFs of the 1979 GE and 1980 Norelco catalogs as I don't know how to make PDFs myself and a friend did the PDFs of said catalogs. In the meanwhile, you can check out James Hooker's website at www.lamptech.co.uk, there are PDFs of 1937, 1948, and 1960 GE catalogs as well as old European catalogs.

Silverliner, those were exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for the link. For some reason, I've never come across that site before. If you wouldn't mind, I would also appreciate copies of the two catalogs you have PDFs of. Email is nelsonogden (at) gmail (dot) com.
