F30T12 5000K lamps « on: April 24, 2011, 11:51:30 PM » Author: BowlingMania14
I'd love to find/get any 3' 5000K lamps. Unfortunately, I know of no place that sells any near me. Having one would complete my F30T12 color spectrum. Thanks! 8)

Vintage products are the best! Nothing will ever compare to the quality of old, U.S. made fluorescent bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures.

I've never looked at the stores around here, but F30's in general there is a very slim selection (I looked on eBay tonight, and no 5000k there...I know you can find 'em online though)

I have one in service in a shop I maintain. It is a regular GE Chroma 50 3' T12. I might be able to send it to you if you are interested. It is used but not too old. The shop owner might not care if I give her a new cool white in its place. I bought it for the increased CRI but decided its too dim. Maybe I could sell it or trade it for something.

I have a CASE of F30T8 Optima 50 DuroTest lamps, and I tell you for a fact they will NOT start on rapid start without doing some special aiding such as a 12V battery to heat the filaments more. These say preheat on them.

The one I need to find is a couple F30T12 (or as a 2nd choice T8) but in Daylight
all Home Depot had was Warm white & Cool white (haven't checked Lowes, but I know they don't have much of a selection either)

That GE Chroma 50 I mentioned just failed due to mercury starvation. I knew I should have avoided buying an Eco lamp! It didn't last nearly as long as its full-mercury predecessor. Now if I have to chance the lamp more often, how am I releasing less mercury into the environment?
