Mysterious warning label on F8T5 box. « on: October 28, 2023, 11:25:29 AM » Author: LightsAreBright27
I bought a Rad-ium-gold branded F8T5 ( https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=8026&pos=5&pid=236397 ) and noticed that it had a warning label saying not to touch it with bare hands and clean with alcohol cloth if done.
This is a fluorescent, not a halogen. Why does this exist?

Since the F8T5 is a relatively short and thin fluorescent lamp, they are probably recycling elements of the packaging from a linear halogen lamp box.

HID Fixtures should stay HID, but I think LED is fine too.

I have a F15T8 fixture that has a label stating that it is to be relamped with F8T5 only (or the reverse, I don’t remember which fixture it is). Probably the wrong label roll in the dispenser that day.

These boxes are printed. Also, if they reused the box from a halogen, it would also include heat and protective glass warnings. Since the front has a image of a tube with fluorescent printed on it, I think that they just copied and pasted the info without knowing what it meant.
