What was your most spectacular find in 2012? « on: December 30, 2012, 07:49:28 PM » Author: lantern_vision
Yep, I really would like to learn about your spectacular find of year 2012. Mine was a DISCO 2 x 55 w lps lantern that was found useless on top of a trash mountain. I have done my best to restore it and now it looks like a brand new fitting...

I can't see anything in the picture.
This is probably a fixture with two F40T12 HPF rapidstart ballasts, since there are no magnetic ballasts for more than two lamps.

Sorry if you can't see anything, I thought it was a good discovery picture.

It does have two ballasts: Picture  They are F40T12 HPF RS as well.

Mine was the old hardware store where I got this old Champion tube. I never did get back there, but hopefully I'll go back soon.

Mine had to be this Sylvania HF-100.  I found some neat things in 2012, but I truly found this, hanging in an dilapidated old garage that is just looking for a way to fall.

well from local finds, i will say what I remember the best.

-a pair of champion preheat-rapid start F40CWs

-a pair of westinghouse ultralume 3000Ks

-a pair of westy-made harmony house F40CWs inside etchers

-a ge 20w white from the 40s (post mazda)

-two duro-test 20w 4500 whites

-4 luxor 40w vita-lite power twists

-many many old incandescent bulbs, too many to count here but some important finds including finding a ge 100w bulb from 1959 with vertical filament, one of the first of its kind, made in oakland, ca, also found many old westy bulbs which I like, etc etc.

-for ebay finds, the best ones I would say is a pair of ge mazda 20w greens from 1940, and a few nos GE A-H1 medium pressure mercury lamps.

-for fixtures, i acquired a number of preheaters recently, will post pics later
