I started my lighting interest in 2017, but before I was interested in electronic things. Firt I watched Parrot175, Mr26lumix and Rteciowski videos.
By curiosity I went to the "about" YT page of Parrot and I saw two links, to GoL and here, first I clicked in the link to here, then I surfed a bit in the site, and I decided that this is the perfect site to me. I also went to GoL and I registered few moths later, but seems like GoL can't recive more members.

I have visited the site as a guest to see tpirman1982’s gallery, then I joined!

I found this site because of Parrot's YouTube channel.

Always had an interest in Lighting, got a lithonia 70w yard blaster from home depot back in 4th grade, did some googling and found the site while on a computer at school. Joined a year later.

I always had an interest in lighting since as far back as I can remember.  A few weeks after Phillip Slawinski set up this website for a small group of the American collectors, he then invited me, and I've been here since 2005 :-)

Before that we only had Tim Tromp's Bulbcollector forum.  That's another really excellent website, but like many people here I was primarily interested in the more modern lamps, whereas Bulbcollector specialises in the real century-old antiques.  Those are so difficult and expensive to get hold of, and it seems they mainly reside with a small number of really serious museum-grade collectors.  LG is great because we all enjoy the rather more easily obtainable vintage lamps that are not quite so old, which can be shared among more members, and that really helps to keep things active here.

I discovered LG just by searching some informations about foreign streetlights and sometimes about light sources in general by browsing in the web and finally in 2007 I joined this site.

A Vacuum cleaner collectors club member brought the Lighting Gallery site to me since we both like lights.

I use to have a light bulb collection along with other electronic things like insulators etc, collected it from when I was 5 years old 1988 I use to ask the lineman if I could have things when he was working in our street, and I would swipe those coloured incandescent light bulbs from a place for my bed room. My folks moved out into the county and my collection was thrown away by my folks and I discovered other things. A few weeks ago I was trying to find the name of the fluorescent lamp that was in the park and discovered LG and the name of the lamp.

I was writing my story here but realized it was way too long for here, so the TL;DR of it was that i started getting interested in 2015 when i found some odd CFLs in my parents light cabinet, two years later i was binge-watching a bunch of lighting-related videos on Youtube and found this forum through a link on Parrot175's channel, where i joined less than a week later.

我大概也是被快速启动型电感镇流器给迷住了，因为在中国的教科书里都说电感镇流器要配合启辉器启动，但是当我看到了不用启辉器的电感镇流器时我就感觉很吃惊，然后去日本雅虎图片搜索，因为中国封锁了谷歌，现在日本雅虎搜索也被中国封锁了，然后就意外地来到了这里了。就是因为语言不通稍微会有点麻烦，但是我还算是克服了。当我得知也有人对早期中国本土版的灯具感兴趣时，我就试着分享我的收藏了，也结识了不少伙伴们。只可惜这个爱好在中国并不被看好，然后中国的爱好者也很少，现实生活中没有相同爱好者，是无法向外人说的东西，只能和大家一起在网上自娱自乐。

I found this site when I was looking up if you could run a 175 watt MV lamp on a 250 watt HPS ballast and also when I looked up if you could run a 250 watt MH bulb on a 250 watt HPS ballast. I lurked around here then I joined a day or so later. I am glad I did.
