Well, the "smart" itself is nothing more than a 21'st century marketing BS, used whenever it does at least a bit more than the common stuff of the same kind.
So if this word would be present already in the early 20'th century, any iron featuring an internal electric heater will be labeled "smart", compare to the former designed to be heated on a stove...
It means the thing can do everything possible but the main function what one would expect (a "smart phone" is a computer, camera, music player, but making calls with it becomes problematic)...
Yes, "Smart" means nothing, A solar panel could be labeled "Smart" if it folded up, Or had Bluetooth.
