Orange end caps were a Philips/Westinghouse thing.

Interesting story RyanF40T12, I almost never run into VHO in the field anymore, in fact im pretty sure the last VHO installation ive seen was nearly 5 years ago and it was the 220w 8-footers. I think ive seen only one F40T12VHO installation ever, and that was in a public museum. The ban of magnetic T12 ballasts was probably the last nail in the coffin for VHO, as the only electronic VHO ballasts ive seen so far are for the aquarium trade, nothing exists in commercial lighting now that's specifically rated for VHO T12

Thanks!  I never considered those orange caps could have been Westinghouse.  I believe the Gym had been built back in 1965, and it was torn down in 1997, sadly.. to make room for a huge conference center.  Part of me died when they tore that gym down.
