Today, I also received a BRAND NEW GE M250R2 100 Watt HPS from GE.  It was manufactured 06/15/2016 at 11:14AM according to the label.  SCORE!  Love that new light smell!

Last year, I got a M250R2 250W HPS on 7/06/2015 that had been manufactured exactly one week prior.  ALL GE M250R2s are made to order, so if you order them through a distributor, you will pretty much get them brand new.

Here is what my m250R2 looked like inside before I converted it. It was 150w HPS multitap.

Keyless,  Here is the interior of a 250W HPS GE M250R2.  The Capacitor is kind of hidden behind the heat reflector

This was before I installed my Four-Way lens on here, it only has the Two-Way lens here, which is the only glass lens made today

Do you have any more plans of ordering these lights? If you do, you should order a 100 or 150w PSMH version instead. The PSMH M250R2s under 250w actually take medium base lamps according to my m250R2 literature. Probably since mogul base lamps in that wattage are quite difficult to find compared to the medium base counterparts.

Also, how do you order a cobrahead or NEMA through GE? I doubt I will ever do it (the only time I would is if I owned a farm and wanted to replace a yardblaster or something) but it is something I have always wondered.

You have to order through an electrical distributor who carries GE products.  You would need to contact GE in order to find your nearest distributor.  GE doesn't sell their luminaires like street lights direct to the public.  Only through distributors
