Definitely a bad and cheap design

Seeing this makes me not want to buy the Heath Zenith HPS bulbs at the hardware store.

Wait, the Heath Zenith bulb at the store, or your fixture?

Heath Zenith fixture, GE lamp from the early-mid 1990s.  Pretty sure the Caster fixture is ruining what would otherwise be a good lamp though.

I am running a Caster 100W MH lamp in a ceiling track light fixture I got at a yard sale-came from a former clothing store.Have three of these lights.Running a Caster,Sylvania,and a Regeant lamp to see how they do and how long they last.The Sylvania gives a nice warm color.The Caster adn Regeat bulbs give a 4K color.See how the color does as the bulbs age.
