Blackpool Illuminations « on: August 30, 2016, 06:16:31 PM » Author: Keiron
Hi folks, some of you might know that on Friday 2nd September the famous Blackpool Illuminations get switched on, I'm lucky enough to have these lights right on my doorstep & just wondered if any members of this group would be interested if I did a folder in my pictures of these lights?
Regards Keiron.

For all our US members, Blackpool is sort of a cross between Coney Island and Las Vagas! ;)
That would be an great idea Keiron, I don`t think its ever been shown in photo form on LG!

Its also the place where I saw one of the worse thunderstorms in the UK I have ever seen!, (nothing like what you guys in the states get), but pretty bad for UK, (boring weather), standards! ;D

Thankyou AngryHorse, I think there is about 6 miles of lighting with the majority being LED these days although there are some filament lamps left. Most of the displays now operate on 12 or 24 volts for safety reasons.

When I get a night off work & the weather is ok I will have a walk down & take some pics, I also plan to get some day pics so the lights can be seen in more detail :-)
