T12 Slimline Ballast. « on: May 14, 2017, 01:07:58 PM » Author: BGPatterson
I got this ballast from a lighting "upgrade" at a buddy's work. It ways 5710 on the back, so I assume October, '75. Is it OK to use 60W lights on it? I don't currently have any 75s but I can go buy some. I suppose this is made by GE with that date code. It has PVC insulated wires. It runs pretty cool, after an hour with the 2x60W 8 foot lamps its barely warm. I replaced the electronic ballast that was in this lamp fixture and this one is brighter. It says 1.45A on the label. I'm gonna do all 4 lamps in my garage.

Since it's rated for F72T12, it'll run energy saver F96 lamps just fine (but might get a bit warmer than with full wattage lamps).

I like my lamps thick, my ballasts heavy, and my fixtures tough.
