Orange = Sodium. There are two types of sodium lamps: Low pressure which produces a deep single-tone amber color, and high pressure which produces a golden orange color.
White = The clear mercury lamp have a pale greenish color. The coated mercury lamp have color closer to pure white, due to the red emission from the coating being mixed with the greenish color of the mercury.
