Cultural question for UK members « on: July 22, 2018, 11:00:55 PM » Author: 589
So I have dealt with three sellers on eBay in the UK so far this past year that have arbitrarily stopped communicating with me halfway through a transaction. This has led me to be forced to open a case on them to get my money back as they become completely non-responsive seemingly for no reason. I don’t understand why this keeps happening, I’ve rarely had this happen in my 20 years on eBay in the US. Is there something I’m missing here?

I honestly can't answer this. I've been an eBay member since 2002(ish) and I've never had this problem. In fact I think only once have I been forced to open a dispute to get my money back. I pay with Paypal and have their pay-after-delivery service, so most things arrive before I actually get money taken from my account.

I have had that happen as well. It seems further investigation would most likely reveal this is a human issue more than a cultural one.

Thanks for your input Ria! It was my thinking that I’ve just come across some bad apples in this case. I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t something I was missing. Thanks for confirming this. Hopefully I’ll be able to get someone to send me a batch of Sox lamps that I purchase one day... this is twice now I’ve had an AWOL seller for used sox lamps, gonna open an eBay case on them tomorrow probably.
