Are 70CRI 4100K F40T12s still made ? « on: December 02, 2018, 09:29:19 PM » Author: Lightingguy1994
If they are made, by who? A distributor has cases of 30 in stock for a beefy price of $153, but in Canada. Don't know who makes them because they only list the brand as ''Major". They aarent some sort of crappie CWX i hope. Id actually be interested if these are older style bulbs with the proper cool white look. I'd be willing to gamble the $ 153

The fluorescent lamp manufacturer in Canada that makes T12's for Sylvania still uses the low CRI halophosphor for some T12's, I just picked up a case of F48T12HO/CW for a client (they were manufactured two months ago), surprised to find that they are the low CRI yellowish halophosphor cool white. Lamps etch includes "Canada"

As far as performance, they appeared to be the typical brightness of a new F48T12HO, and achieved full output about 10 seconds after first start. Cant tell you about reliability yet as I just installed them last week. A couple of the lamps had noticeable beads of mercury rolling around in them.

They are not, at least not for use in the USA.  There may be halophosphate cool white "shatter guard" lamps, or "for export only" lamps, however.
