It's summertime in South Carolina It's hot here even by our standards. High temperatures in my town range from 93F to 97F every day this week. The high humidity makes the heat index feel like low 100s each day I am thankful to have air conditioning in my home and work in an air-conditioned workspace. Seeing a 10-day forecast with relentless heat and 90F or higher every day stresses me out. Not much rain in our forecast either. The Weather Channel says we may have a "rapid onset" drought due to the high temperatures and sudden change in rainfall patterns. It's looking like a rough summer on the way in SC and other parts of the eastern US. So glad I can take a refreshing swim in a nearby mountain lake I have a window-box air conditioning and enjoy chilling down my bedroom each evening before going to sleep. It's amazing what a big difference it makes for my sleep in a cold room. Hope y'all stay safe, hydrated and cool this summer!

It's been very hot up here in Dayton Ohio as well, although there was a slight break in the heat today, with just 83 degrees being the high temperature. 93 degrees or around that is expected for tomorrow though. This heat has proven detrimental to both my sport car and my motorcycle, so I haven't been out much. Not that I wanted to be out much anyways... even if both vehicles performed great in the heat, I'm not a fan of being out in the heat during drives, or motorcycle rides. Although I don't hate the extreme heat as much as the extreme cold... I still hate it. I had lighting plans for the garage... put on hold due to the high heat. I planned on fixing the messy wiring for my Wallpacks, and changing it up a little, installing my 50w Sylvania MH into most of those Wallpacks. Never got around to any of that since it's just far too hot. Also, due to the heat, seems as if spiders have been spawning throughout the garage during the nights... not cool... not cool.

A thunderstorm moved through my area not too long ago. I made the mistake of thinking that the storm was almost at the strong level, not knowing that it was... actually at that level. Listened to the rain and constant thunder, while sitting in my upstairs loft. I thought to myself, "This is relaxing. Luckily this storm isn't strong or severe." Then the thunderstorm was like, "Are you kidding me??!!" *mmmmBOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!* ...got up from my seat, ran down stairs, shut off ALL the lights and watched the storm. Close lightning strike after lightning strike... it was obvious that the storm was getting severe over my area, and definitely evident on radar. This storm dropped an apparent confirmed small tornado a few cities away, so I'll have to check the news to see what's up with that. Goes to show... just because the storm looks harmless on radar doesn't mean it'll stay that way. Always keep an eye on the radar to ensure the storm isn't increasing in intensity. I failed to do that.

The summer here in Israel, broke high temperature records several times, and I think the reason for this, is the eruption of Hunga Tunga volcano , which scientists said that the eruption would increase the global temperatures, due to the high amount of steam that has been emitted by the eruption.

Close lightning strike after lightning strike... I would have had the camcorder recording that one (and if it wasn't raining, I'd be outside)

Here in Ontario, we are getting slammed by big snow storms as of right now! The weather app says its about 10 CM. I just went outside and it seems like there is more than an inch of snow.

Lucky! It's hot as balls down here at the moment, we're getting up to about 37c in the day. 42c is the hottest I ever remember it getting to here. In winter it gets down to about -8c in the mornings, so a rather wide range of temperatures!

Doesn't Australia typically see violent Supercell thunderstorms from time to time?

Maybe, I don't know anything about weather. We did have a bad hail storm here in Canberra around 2020.

Filament LEDs. Both a blessing and a curse.

We had an ice storm beat us down here last night... freezing rain, hail, and snow all in one. Started as i was driving home with some GE F40CW Mainlighters about 30 min from home. I think my car may have sustained some hail damage...
