Original GE M400 on eBay « on: May 12, 2019, 07:29:51 AM » Author: WestinghouseCeramalux
First gen GE M400 for sale on eBay. Looks to be a rough, over priced project fixture. (I don't personally want anymore projects...got enough as is!)

I wonder if it had internal components or had been gutted?

Good question...I wondered that myself.

Seems like someone bought it. Yeah I wonder if it still has the original components. Nothing turns me off buying an older light than the seller mentioning something like rewired for 120v or rewired for home use and seeing the light gutted with only a medium socket and a screw in LED inside...

I personally prefer getting lights in off the street condition.

Yep...don't mind an aftermarket ballast if the original is blown. Sure don't want someone's 'hobby light'!

I'm sure the listing will be back 'cause it says they had 10. I've been watching these since x-mas the price was buy it now and has slowly been coming down until they re-listed the as an auction. Personally, with the rust stains and water line visible I'd guess that these have been sitting in standing water for a while and ANY original gear is probably junk. Besides, they are local pickup only in North Carolina.

I wonder what made the seller jack up the price to $250. $125 was already a stretch for a fixture like this IMO. I see they still didn't include a picture of the internals so you still don't know the condition of the internals or whether or not they have the original gear. I've noticed cobraheads tend to look like they're in good condition on the outside but the inside can be rusted out.

I've been watching those two M-250's , the price has come down a lot and I'm thinking of buying them, I'm just not sure about the 5 hour drive each way to get them !
