My favourite metal halide lamps are mostly Sylvania. For the love of all good things, why can't they put the colour temperature on the packaging ? While browsing eBay or other online places, I have to look up the catalogue numbers on 1000bulbs or the like.

I certainly find it hilarious when people refer call linear fluorescent tubes as “bulbs” as well.

Tubes aren't commonly called bulbs for a reason. I am not sure but electric bulbs are called so because they have a similar round shape as plant bulbs (spherical root-like thing that some plants have).

My inner thoughts- "So in this fashion, tubes should be called canes." Should I slap my inner thoughts?

Going for the plant named fashion, cheap leds should be called weeds ;D since they pop up at random places and are unwanted.

Another lighting pet peeve I have is when rare lamps and fixtures do not make it into the hands of any of our LG members.

I have seen sometimes people who aren't enthusiasts bid and win a very rare lamp or lantern and just use it until it dies, and then throw it away.

I imagined this scenario in my head:

An original 1950s fluorescent fixture with cheap LED strips.
"Ooh look! It can go rgb!"

Thank god I have never actually seen them.

For me, one of the most hateful thing in modern lighting was (is) an aggressive mentioning of that damn "scotopic vision" by dishonest LED salesmen. Pushing the false idea that high color temp lights are more efficient at low light level due to eye sensitivtty shifting to shorter wavelenghts. So every city should immediately dump its streetlights in favor of that new harsh blueish crap they offer "to start saving".
