The 10,000 watt G-96 lamp?

I'm curious: The question was about lamp you can buy (and I would understand it refering to which normal average Joe could buy). So you are saying it is the 10kW globe.
So my question is, where can a normal "mortal" buy such lamp?

Wait, such a thing exists?  :o :o

What was it used for?

I want to buy a big globe off the internet. 100-150 watts, higher wattages ok if available.

Here in Sweden you can still get 1000W E40 incandesents, they are pretty big and readily available. E40 sockets are uncommon but you can still get them. So a big, quite cheap bulb that you can actually use without any extra gear.

I have an older Mole-Richardson studio and stage lighting equipment catalog and they have a "globe table" that tells you the kind of lamps you can use in the fixture. Also has carbon arc lighting and field portable DC generators to power the lights-and "grids" the restive ballasts used with carbon arc lights.Plus the carbons! And can be gotten in various types to suit color needs.Since the book is old-doubt many of those are no longer made.
