Philips 55w SOX PSG how do i tell if its lost vacuum « on: September 08, 2019, 05:42:02 PM » Author: Danny
I have a Blue Cap Philips 55w SOX (low pressure sodium lamp) without the getter coating.

Can anyone here tell me how i can tell if it has lost vacuum in the outer jacket at all? Is there anything that changes in the lamp? As i say there is no getter in these lamps to tell
Cheers

This is a SOX-PSG with a solid state getter (The small square pellet), instead of the barium getter.
When a lamp with the usual barium getter, losing vacuum in the outer, the getter turns white.
