i put some new cfl's in my bathroom (sylvania instant on mini's) and they create a weird smell- like new or burning plastic. what should i do??  ???

The only really safe ones, the ones that I've never had melt or smoke at EOL is Feit Electric, but I don't know if you can get those there

i might can get those but if i can't are sylvania super savers that u get at lowes any good? i did use ge but their quality went down and i quit buying them. i seldomly use n:vision bulbs too.

ok found the messed up bulb. was black on the bottom of the tube and part of the ballast

            i replaced all 3 with GE 13 watt spirals. the are working fine. (for now)

That's cool, stay away from the higher wattage GE spirals, they smoke and smell bad at EOL

When you like to use fluorescent for lighting, install a fluorescent fixture instead (e.g. for PL-C, PL-S, circline,...).
If you don't want to swap the luminaire, use higher efficiency incandescent lamp (halogen,...).
