Those elongated three refractor fixtures must be special made for LA. Never sen them anywhere else or on any old sales brochure.

Those are "Hollywood Specials"  https://www.lighting-gallery.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=search&cat=0&pos=1&pid=25679  I don't know who originally made them but i do know the optics are from an early OV-50

When did they start using those LPS lamps there in Cali?  In the 70s? 80s?  I remember going to a science museum in the late 80s when my family vacation there and they had a display about the LPS lights.

Doesn't LA have a street light museum of the types of fixtures that have been installed on their streets?

Yes they do . It's only open once a month though and you have to make a reservation to visit.  http://bsl.lacity.org/museum.html
