I hardly ever lose power even though trees are all over the wires...weird.
As we're very close to the city centre, all the power feeds here are underground, we don't have overhead power lines to residential property except in rural areas.

I'm with you on the no bugs part. My favorite season is fall, not too hot or too cold, bugs start to go away.
Yeah, the fall, more commonly known as just autumn in the UK, is an awesome season , I used to love walking home from school through all the falling leaves, and the smell of wood burning fires from the houses, with all the street lighting coming on early as a kid , it always reminded me winter was coming!

I'm completely the opposite, I find my most peaceful moments are just before going to sleep or if I wake up during the night. I always have trouble getting back to sleep afterwards, so sometimes I'll go and sit on the sofa for a while and maybe read a chapter of whatever book I'm currently in the middle of. We're right in the city centre, so there's always a certain amount of traffic noise, but it's the most peaceful time of day.

It was so peaceful this morning, I stood in the back garden with Ash, breathing the fresh frosty air, enjoying a coffee, and listening to the birds , that’s my most peaceful moments, but I can sympathise with you near your city centre, I’m guessing it’s never totally quiet?

Not really, but it's not as bad as it was before they finally opened the bypass (which had been in the planning for 15 years or so) in February this year. Before that, pretty much ALL the north/south traffic through the city went down the main road about 100 yards away at the end of our side street

Nope, the funnel was about 12 miles to the Northeast of me. Constant lightning in the clouds though.
I see.

Glad we missed it. The sirens went off for 15 minutes until it was cancelled and went Northeast.
Glad you and your collection were safe/spared!

@GE101R, sounds like a thunderstorm Shelf Cloud. Could've also been indicative of a Supercell storm as well, but less organized.

A few years ago we were driving back home and there was a funnel cloud right above us! I later touched down in Maine and took out a barn roof.
