Cool to see how those beasts were originally installed. Check out how far the arm extended in to the fixture too. There are some davit poles around here with something like that, a telltale sign that the pole once held a fluorescent fixture.

Man, the slipfitter is super long for those fluorescents!

When I began my job 12 years ago, we used "platform" trucks like that. The ones we had used a folding railing. When up high, we always felt weird about someone possibly crashing into our truck.

That would not be good. I have watched crews put warning flags and cones 50 feet behind the truck which is way too close to be safe.

If someone is going to hit hard enough, then cones and signs help zero.

I have been advocating for crash trucks.

In Seattle, with the prog-lib gov't we have, many people are driving around high these days because SPD and King County have a policy to ignore drug use, possession or prosecute for such. People feel emboldened to drive around high. We have had several bad incidents already in the last 5 years.
