Philips/Osram SOX 180W « on: April 10, 2020, 09:48:14 PM » Author: meganie
I'm looking for a Philips (or Osram) SOX 180W in Europe for a reasonable price or I could also swap for SOX 180W gear (Philips BSX 180 + SX 73).

There are 180W Philips SOX lamps for sale on amazon, but very overpriced.

I’ve always been interested in all kinds of lighting, mainly incandescent and HID, and especially all kinds of sodium lamps (HPS/LPS). I’ll tolerate LED but I’m not a fan of it.

This seems expensive, but I don’t know if it is a reasonable price for 180W SOX.

I think that's reasonable for 180W.

True  :(

CP Lighting have them, but the price is way too much, for us anyway  :-\

Still better than all the prices in Europe. I would pay something like 50€ + shipping for a new one.

The prices here are ridiculous. As I said earlier, a wholesaler here still has a few in stock, but £141 is way too much. Even if I had the cash, I'd be reluctant to spend that much on a single lamp.

That's the cheapest I could find in Europe: https://leuchtmittelmarkt.at/leuchtmittel/philips/entladungslampen/niederdrucknatriumdampflampen-sox/sox-by22d/1903/philips-sox-180w-by22d

133€ including shipping.

Crazy  :-\

Still, now that production has stopped, it's a seller's market. While they can afford to sit on stock, they will. Maybe eventually if they don't sell, the price will come down, but while there are people out there with deeper pockets than us, they'll get the lamps and we won't  :'(
